A team of eight dedicated cyclists, including representatives from Great Harwood Windows, have successfully completed the prestigious London to Paris bike ride, raising an impressive £20,000 for Action Medical Research.
The challenging 300-mile journey, which took place in July 2025, saw the team join 105 other cyclists in support of vital medical research projects. The four-day adventure culminated in a memorable finish along the Champs-Élysées, including two celebratory laps around the Arc de Triomphe.
Perseverance Rewarded

Despite facing challenging conditions, including severe rainfall during the first day’s 35-mile stretch, the team persevered through France, enjoying improved weather and scenic routes. The riders praised the exceptional camaraderie among participants and the outstanding support received throughout the journey.
Great Harwood Windows, alongside Armitstead Barnett, KBL Solicitors, and Harvest Animal Feed, played an essential role in sponsoring the event. The Great Harwood Windows team contributed through sponsorship fees and organized various fundraising initiatives, including trade counter raffles and football cards.
A Team Effort for a Worthy Cause

Team members Jimmy and Sally expressed their gratitude to supporters, stating: “This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The daily reminders from Action Medical Research about the impact of our fundraising efforts made every mile worthwhile.”
The team’s fundraising activities prior to the event included cycling and running events, quizzes, raffles, and a duck race. All proceeds will support Action Medical Research’s ongoing work in funding life-saving medical research projects.
If you’d like to get involved in an upcoming event, Action Medical Research run a range of regular events for all ability levels.
